The programme started at Old Pambanar of Idukki district in Kerala to help the jobless tea estate workers. INHIM has adopted a village consisting of thousand families who have lost their jobs in various tea estates. Most of the tea estates have been locked out and hence thousands of labourers became jobless. Thousands of families lost their jobs in various tea estate spreading in the hilly areas called High Ranges., which is 2,500 feet above the sea level. The entire population is now facing a critical situation due to the closing of the estates and processing factories. In order to uplift these inhabitants, INHIM has introduced a system. We provide cows for them. Selling the milk to societies brings meager earnings. We admit, this small programme is not sufficient enough to meet their livelihood.
